10. Dr. Richard Henry Tillman (See No. 9)
He was born in Granville County July 3, 1819 while his father was looking after the affairs of an old grandaunt, Sarah Lumpkins who was the daughter of George Tillman and wife Mary Goodrich of Brunswick County, Va. He studied medicine at the University of Pa. Philadelphia 1841. November 11, 1841 he married Narcissa Bennett, daughter of James Charles Bennett and Mary Ella Winifree of Anson Co. N.C. He died December 23, 1864, and is buried in Wadesboro, N.C. His widow moved with part of her family to Carroll Co. Mississippi in 1867 and died February 24, 1899 and is buried in Carrollton, Mississippi.

After her husband's death in 1864, Narcissa Bennett moved with part of her family to Carroll Co. Mississippi in 1867 and died February 24, 1899 and is buried in Carrollton, MS).

2406. RICHARD TILLMAN of (1894). b. circa 1727 Brunswick County, Va. and d. circa 1800 Montgomery County, NC. He rendered "patriotic Services" in the Revolutionary War while living in Brunswick County, Va. M. Anne Randle who d. April 1771. Children: Elizabeth, b. 1771, Polly, b. 1780, who m. 1st Colonel David Dumas and 2nd - McAllister David, b. 21 December 1784, John, b. 1785, and Anne, b. 1786.

1894. ROGER TILLMAN of (1893) b. 2 December 1701 Prince Georges County, Va., and d. 5 February 1761 Brunswick County, Va. In 1758 he was serving as a member of the Brunswick unit of the Virginia militia. M. 1723 Mary Goodrick, and settled Northampton County, N.C., but later returned to Virginia. Children: George Stephen, b. 21 January 1725, Elizabeth, b. 15 November 1726, Richard, b. 1727, Roger, b. 1728, John, b. 1730, David, b. 1731, and Frederick, b. 1732.

1895. GEORGE STEPHEN TILLMAN of (1894) b. 21 January 1725 Prince George County, Virginia, and died 1781 at the Siege of Ninety Six, S.C., while serving as a Captain under Colonel William Washington in the Revolutionary War. M. 1752 Frances Mitchell, b. 7 May 1726 and d. 5 September 1812.
After leaving Virginia they settled Edgefield District, South Carolina.
Children: Lewis, b. 12 March 1753; Littlebury, b. 1 July 1754; Frederick, 11 September 1755; Stephen, b. 5 June 1764, and Jacob, b. 1765 who d. unmarried 13 April 1789.

1893. GEORGE TILLMAN of (1468 b, 19 January 1663 Charles City County, Virginia, and d. 4 May 1756 Lawrenceville, Brunswick County, Virginia. M. 10 January 1701 Mary House. His will is on file in Brunswick County. Children: Roger, b. 2 December 1701, George, b. 1705, Tabitha, b. 14 Sept. 1720 who m. Jonathan Butler (date of birth correctly given): William, b. 21 May 1723 who settled Halifax County, N.C.: Elizabeth, b. 1724 who m. James Butler: Mary, b. 1726 who m. John Avery: and Sarah, b. 8 October 1731 who married 1st James Hunt and 2nd 12 Nov. 1798 Anthony Lumpkins.

1468. ROGER TILGHMAN (of 1467), b. circa 1650 in Accomac County, Virginia. He left a family Bible, or journal, to his son Robert. Fragments of this have been retained by several descendant lines. M. 1st 1674 Winnefred Austin. Children: Robert born 1675. M. 2nd 1680 (Mrs.) Susannah Parram (or Parham) born 1648 and died 2 March 1717 and settled Prince George County, Virginia. Children: John born 1682, George 10 January 1683, Jane who married Nicholas Robinson, and Christine who married Robert Abernathy. Roger Tilghman located on 1,060 acres of land in Bristol Parish, Charles City County, Virginia, 20 April 1689, according to records of the land office at Richmond, Virginia. This patent was for the transportation of 22 persons into the Colony, and was in the form of headrights. The settlement was known as Fort Tillman, and was situated on the south side of the Appomattox River at Moneus-a-Nock (Monk's Neck), thence to Gravelly Run. This is know in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. On coming to Prince George County, Virginia, he changed the spelling of his name from Tilghman to Tillman.
